Small Business Owners Positive About Future
A recent report by TD Bank found 51 percent of Americans are optimistic about the future of the economy, while nearly 75 percent have plans to meet or top financial goals during the next quarter.
Nearly nine out of 10 businesses plan to either keep the staff they currently employ, or add more personnel. Approximately 20 percent of those polled already plan to add at least one more worker. More than half of business owners are working more than last year, which may suggest better business conditions.
"TD Bank's recent survey of small business owners further solidifies what we've been hearing from our customers over the last 12 months," said Fred Graziano, head of retail and small business banking at TD Bank. "Although they may be working longer hours, these results indicate that economic conditions are improving and may lead to higher revenues and job creation for small businesses."
Businesses who have had recent financial issues due to the stagnant economy may be excited about the new projections, as possible recovery conditions may help owners pay down their credit card debt.
