Retail And Fashion Employees To Receive Better Pay

Share this on:

Retail and fashion employees are receiving more money. A recent survey found more professionals in the retail and fashion industries experienced improved salaries, better job opportunities and a greater amount of benefits.

The fifth annual Salary Survey, compiled by recruitment firm 24 Seven Inc., found nearly 70 percent of those polled plan to change their employment situation over the next 12 months. Approximately 50 percent of the group studied was in the process of looking for a better position.

"The recession has re-shaped job expectations, and we're now seeing star talent on all levels leaving to create their own opportunities, redefine their career paths and increase their on-the-job satisfaction level," said Celeste Gudas, 24 Seven's president and founder.

Base salaries in the industries are on the rise - approximately 20 percent higher than 12 months earlier - and for those who have held a job between one and five years, those wages are nearly 10 percent higher.

With salaries up, consumers who work in these industries may have a leg up in accruing extra funds to help build their credit rating. Despite this, it is important to not overspend, as credit card debt can be difficult to pay down if it gets out of control.
