One-in-four Nurses To Looking For New Occupation
A recent survey by AMN Healthcare found approximately 25 percent of American nurses plan to switch occupations during the economy's recovery from the recent recession.
The 2011 Survey of Registered Nurses found only 58 percent are satisfied with the job, compared to 66 percent in 2010. More than 30 percent of nurses plan to either reduce their hours or leave the profession for good over the next 12 to 36 months. In 2010, only 26 percent of nurses shared this view.
"Our survey clearly indicates a significant job satisfaction decline from 2010 to 2011 and that seems to be driving nurse's desire for change," said Ralph Henderson, president of AMN Healthcare's nursing and allied division.
Those who are employed as nurses, but plan to leave the profession may want to hang onto their jobs until another work opportunity is available. Quitting and continuing the job search without financial support could be troublesome. If credit card debt is a part of the consumers' financial portfolio, abandoning such payments can be extremely damaging.
New government regulations in place for consumers in need of debt relief for credit cards and other unsecured debts.
