More Identity Theft Protection For Aviation Employees
Federal Aviation Administration employees now have added protection against identity theft thanks to a recent agreement made with a prevention service.
A contract with Identity Force will offer added protection to FAA employees, the protection company said. Their services were sought out due to a security breach in February 2009. More than 45,000 current and retired workers' personal information was exposed.
Administrator Randy Babbitt said that "we're delighted to offer this service as an improvement over last year's protection as it now adds full identity restoration. The FAA is the first government agency, to my knowledge, to offer this service to all its employees because we feel it is the right thing to do."
The new services will supply full identity monitoring that includes informing a person if their credit report has been altered. It also provides restoration services, as well as training and awareness information for FAA workers.
Being the victim of identity theft and fraud can send a consumer into dire financial circumstances. In some instances, it may be severe enough that debt relief from the criminal activity will need to be sought out.
New government regulations in place for consumers in need of debt relief for credit cards and other unsecured debts.
