As the year winds down, more expenses tend to occur. With the holidays only a few months away, considering saving up now may be a good idea, Khalfani-Cox wrote for Wallet Pop. For those who save, gift-purchasing may be made much easier, and the chances of accruing significant credit card debt last second could be greatly reduced.
Another great idea could be to review insurance policies, Khalfani-Cox said. Making sure that both auto and life insurance plans are adequate may be a positive step. In addition, shopping around could be wise. There are many ways to make sure that the best rates and coverage are coupled together in a plan.
Consumers can also re-evaluate their budgets, she added. These types of plans can be difficult, but if a consumer is honest with themselves, a realistic battle plan could be devised. Splitting up a cash flow into different payment or savings destinations could make for a great plan.
New government regulations in place for consumers in need of debt relief for credit cards and other unsecured debts.
