Grocery Shopping Online Could Save Money, Cut Debt
This holiday season, many consumers are looking to stretch their budgets in an effort to make all the necessary purchases while cutting into any potential debt.
However, a new report suggests one easy way to do this is by making grocery purchases online.
By using online services such as MyWebGrocer, PeaPod, and MamboSprouts, Consumer Reports says. These sites can cut down on costly traveling time, long lines and limited supplies that can be associated with brick and mortar stores.
In addition, by using these automated checkouts, consumers can better stick to their budget, the news source says. There, consumers will find all their potential purchases clearly itemized, and any unwanted products can be easily discarded with a click of a button.
Consumers can also save by buying generic or store brand products. This can help consumers save an average of 30 percent, as these items typically cost between 7 and 60 percent less than name brands, the news source says.
By using these methods, consumers may be able to stick to their budgets this holiday season and avoid adding debt to their bank accounts.
