Americans Divided On Clothes Shopping
A recent poll by market research firm Harris Interactive found consumers living in the United States are in disagreement regarding how they view shopping for clothing.
Approximately 39 percent of the more than 2,000 consumers polled enjoy going on shopping trips to purchase clothing items, while another 30 percent do not like venturing out on such an endeavor.
Despite this, nearly half of Americans made a clothes purchase within the past month, and close to 20 percent bought clothes in the week before responding to the poll. A total of 36 percent said their transaction was necessary, while 20 percent made a purchase just because it was on sale. Only 2 percent recently bought an item because it was the trendy thing to do.
Shopping for clothes is necessary, but some consumers may have a tendency to get a bit carried away. For those that have a little trouble staying away from the stores, it may be wise to avoid credit card debt by leaving the card at home every once in a while. The temptation of spending money on something frivolous could be too great.
